Whilst the development of digital cameras has made the processing and printing of colour photographs considerably less of a chore than it was in the days when I had my trusty Nikon FM It is still often more satisfying to shoot in Black and White. I now have a Fuji Finepix S9500 and have recently moved up to a digital SLR with the Canon 450D (Digital Rebel Xsi) Thankfully I can still revert to Black and White when the occasion calls for it.. About the Area
I generally never show the photographs I use as source material for my paintings and prints; Often they have been changed beyond recognition and I like to keep the process to myself. However I am frequently asked about what new Hastings pictures I am working on; and as I am planning a new series of etchings which may take some time to be completed I have decided to feature some of the photographs I will be working from over the coming months.
These photographs cover those parts of the Old Town I have not dealt with before; namely the net huts, Hill Street and Croft Road ( recognisable to any fans of TV’s Foyle’s War)
