Seacandy Jewellery at Ryepress
Anyone walking past the Ryepress studio in Hastings High Street over the last week may have noticed the sudden transformation of the shop window from its usual mainly manly Black and White to a shockingly girly Pink... Seacandy has arrived!
Collette Murphy is my partner in the shop and has now launched her jewellery; Seacandy, at 39 High Street in collaboration with Ryepress.
Although Seacandy has its own website we have decided to follow up this collaboration by promoting it with a preview on Ryepress. Please click on either the logo, the link above or any picture to visit Seacandy.
“When I moved from London to the South Coast a few years ago I rediscovered the gem shop my parents used to take me to on seaside visits. This reawakened my fascination with gemstones and became the starting point for a new collection of jewellery designs, inspired by the sea, seashells and the constantly changing shoreline.”
This is a little asymmetric pendant made from a looped silver frame with freshwater pearls coiled on to it. I have one of these and wear it nearly all the time - mine is made of bronze and gold pearls, this one is pink, grey and cream. Simple and elegant and a fantastic present. This pendant measures just under 1.5 inches and can be supplied on a 16 or 18 inch silver chain - please email me after placing your order to specify the chain length you would prefer
Goudi looking bling
Collaborative effort with artist Colin Bailey - and he named it! Red agate and orange chalcedony with heavy copper wire. Very very stylish!
EACH PIECE OF SEACANDY JEWELLERY
IS HANDMADE AND THEREFORE UNIQUE.
The central part of this pendant is the core spiral of a sea shell, which has been polished to bring out its subtle natural colours. It looks very much like a rose or a lily, and is surrounded by small freshwater pearls and gemstones, together with pieces of coral and sometimes other tiny seashells. These pendants are popular and though I make quite a few of them, no two are ever identical. Some have woven wire panels around them and all are asymmetric organic pieces.
THIS SILVER CUFF IS THREADED THROUGH WITH GARNETS, FRESH WATER PEARLS AND AVENTURINE TO MAKE A DELICATE BUT ATTENTION GRABBING PIECE.
